About Arizona                                                          Tucson Area Map

"Every Weekend can be a Vacation in Arizona" .........Let me tell you why!

Driving from Tucson, within a few hours, is Las Vegas, San Diego, the Gulf of Mexico, Santa Fe, the Hoover Dam, Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona or "Red Rock Country" , the Petrified Forest, Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, Bisbee, Mexico, and more.  These destinations can be day trips, or weekend "Get-a-ways" .

Tucson is a "one-of-a-kind" city surrounded by five mountain ranges.  At 2410' elevation, Tucson is cooler than Phoenix.  Preserving the natural desert and "open space" is very important to us, thus keeping our desert appealing to hikers, golfers and other recreational activities beautiful for all to enjoy. Many natural trails abound, within the city, that lead to National Forest land.

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is the only natural desert zoo for our native animals, creatures, and plants of the Sonoran Desert region.   Nearby, is Old Tucson Studios, a theme park with the "Old West" flavor, and the site of many famous western movies.

The Mission of  "San Xavier del Bac", the "White Dove of the Desert" is great to explore. Built in the late 1700s, by Franciscan, Father Kino, the mission is one of Arizona's earliest.

The University of Arizona provides many cultural events and activities.  Everyone knows the Arizona Wildcat Basketball Team and Lute Olson.  The Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Team and Randy Johnson, are also here.

Finally, a short one-hour drive brings you to Mount Lemmon, our 9100' Ski mountain, practically, in town.   On the top of Mount Lemmon is our summer retreat where the temperatures are approximately 20 degrees cooler, with spruce, aspens, oaks, and Rose Canyon Lake for picnics, fishing, hiking trails, and camping.

This is just a preview of some of the highlights of living in Arizona....There are too many to list, however, these are some of my favorite sites.  Enjoy!
